Members and supporters came out in droves on July 23 to donate blood to the American Red Cross. The club collected 28 unites, which will help save up to 84 lives.
Members assisted the Red Cross team by working in the cantina and providing hospitality to blood donors. Club member Evonne Watson provided lunch, which included her famous hot dogs and award winning coleslaw. NCFRW Coastal Region Vice President Michele Nix, NC Federation of Republican Men's Executive Vice President John Nix, and Assistant District Attorney Alex Pully were among those who donated.
Planning for the next blood drive has already started, and the club hopes to double donations.
